Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crashing into a pony near Wakarusa

A Nappanee man suffered non-life-threatening injuries when his motorcycle crashed into a pony early Sunday morning.

A Nappanee man was taken to a local hospital after crashing into a pony while riding his motorcycle early Sunday morning, July 6.

Ronald Donovan, 53, suffered non-life-threatening cuts on his head after his motorcycle struck a pony on C.R. 3 at the C.R. 30 intersection, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.

Donovan was driving south on C.R. 3 just before 1 a.m. when a pony entered the roadway, the press release stated. He attempted to brake but couldn’t stop in time.

The condition of the pony was not immediately available.
