Early Friday morning, July 4, a truck hit a pedestrian walking along the side of the road, then fled the scene.
The incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. Friday, July 4, on S.R. 120 east of C.R. 35 near Bristol, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sherif’s Department. The truck was driving westbound on the road when it crossed the white fog line and struck a 26-year-old who was walking.
The man was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening lower-leg injuries, the news release said.
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the incident.
