Crews put out early morning garage fire in Elkhart

Firefighters responded to the blaze on W. Garfield Ave. in Elkhart at about 3:35 a.m. Friday, July 4.

The Elkhart Fire Department responded to a garage fire Friday morning, July 4, at 303 W. Garfield Ave. in Elkhart, according to a press release from the city.

Crews responded to the fire around 3:35 a.m. Friday and found flames coming out of a garage on the east side of the residence when they arrived on the scene.

The fire was under control by 4:24 a.m., and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
