Two Winona Lake, LaGrange County residents killed by trees falling on homes

One person was killed and another injured when a tree snapped in half and fell on a Winona Lake mobile home. Another man was killed when a tree fell on his LaGrange County home.

One person was killed early Tuesday morning when a tree fell on a mobile home in Winona Lake, according to a report from the Elkhart Truth’s news partner, WNDU.com.

Police and fire crews were called to a trailer at the Fairlane Mobile Home Park on Wooster Road just after 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 1.

A tree near the home broke in half and fell on a bedroom, killing one person inside, WNDU reports.

Two other people were found in the middle of the home and another suffered minor injuries.

The name and age of the victim have not been released.

Larry Davisson, a 64-year-old LaGrange County resident, was found dead after a tree fell on his home. 

WNDU reports Stroh firefighters arrived to the 9700-block of East County Road 520 South after receiving a call at about 1:30 a.m. from a woman who said a tree had fallen on her house and she couldn’t find her husband.
