A Goshen man is in critical condition after his truck crashed into a train near downtown Goshen Monday afternoon, June 16.

Norman Davis, 58, was listed in critical condition as of 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, a nurse at Memorial Hospital said.

Davis had to be extricated from his truck after it collided with a train around 1 p.m. at the crossing on First Street north of River Avenue.

Davis appeared to have labored breathing, multiple injuries and a possible head injury, according to a press release from the Goshen Police Department. He was taken to Memorial Hospital by Medflight.

Police say Davis drove into a train headed east, but they don’t know why.
