A man was airlifted to the hospital Sunday evening after a one-vehicle crash in Cass County.

Emergency crews were called to Old M-205 and Autumn Drive at 8:38 p.m. Sunday, June 15, according to a news release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

Jose Miguel Fernandez-Rosario, 29, had been driving a GMC Envoy westbound on Old M-205 at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway, rolling several times and striking a parked pick-up truck.

Emergency crews had to extricate Fernandez-Rosario from the vehicle and he was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Alcohol appears to be a factor and Fernandez-Rosario was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to police.
