A man was found dead when crews responded to house fire in South Bend early Saturday morning, June 14, according to our reporting partners at WNDU.
Calls came in around 6:15 a.m. Saturday reporting a blaze at a home in the 5500 block of South Miami Street, WNDU reported.
Crews responded and found a man dead inside the blazing home, WNDU reported.
The intensity of the fire prevented firefighters from continuing their search inside the home, and the roof eventually collapsed, WNDU reported.
The fire was put out, but crews remained on the scene to fight hot spots, according to WNDU.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
