Man charged in connection to St. Joseph County search warrants

A man was charged Tuesday afternoon, June 10, in connection with search warrants that were conducted at seven locations in St. Joseph County on Monday.

Tarlok Singh, 65, was charged with dealing in a synthetic drug, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of a synthetic drug weighing more than 2 grams with the intent to deliver, a Class D felony, according to a news release from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Singh was arrested Monday afternoon during a search at Rick’s Gas Station. His bond was set at $7,500.

A confidential informant made a controlled purchase of synthetic drugs at the gas station’s store at 302 S. Main St., MIshawaka. The drugs were marked as “7H” and later tested positive for synthetic marijuana, according to the news release.  

During the Monday raid, officers found 256 packets of synthetic marijuana, with a total gross weight of 1,000 grams.

Singh is one of nine people arrested in St. Joseph County during the search warrants that were conducted at seven places in the county.

Eleven people were arrested during joint raids in Elkhart County that occurred at the same time.
