Mishawaka parking lot shooting leads to arrest of Ohio man

A Cleveland man was arrested on preliminary charges of attempted murder, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and others after a shooting Sunday.

After making an arrest in connection to a weekend shooting in Mishawaka, police have released the name of the suspect. 

Patrick Talley, a 22-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, was arrested Sunday, June 8, on preliminary charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the the scene of a crash and resisting arrest by flight, according to a report from the Elkhart Truth’s news partner WNDU.com.

Mishawaka police officers were patrolling the parking lot of the 100 Center around 3 a.m. Sunday when they heard several gunshots fired between Hacienda and Sky Lounge.

Two victims were taken to an area hospital where one was treated and released and the other was listed in critical condition, WNDU reported.

Talley fled the scene, but was caught after crashing into a fire hydrant at the corner of Lincolnway West and Monmoor Avenue.

A passenger in Talley’s vehicle was arrested on an unrelated charge and booked at the Elkhart County Jail, according to WNDU.

The case has been turned over to the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide.
