Two injured, two in custody after shooting in Mishawaka parking lot

Police are investigating a double shooting in a Mishawaka parking lot that injured two people early Sunday morning.

Mishawaka police were patrolling the parking lot at the 100 Center, at the corner of Lincolnway West and Center Street, around 3 a.m. Sunday, June 8 when they heard gunshots between Hacienda and Club Sky, according to report from the Elkhart Truth’s news partner WNDU.

Two victims were taken to an area hospital where one was treated and released and the other was listed in critical condition, WNDU reported.

A suspect fled the scene, but was apprehended after crashing into a fire hydrant at the corner of Lincolnway West and Monmoor Avenue.

Police have two suspects in custody and the case has been turned over to the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide.
