South Bend police respond to stabbing following two women’s argument

One woman was taken to the hospital with injuries resulting from a stabbing on Thursday afternoon, June 5. Police said the victim was arguing with another woman before she was attacked.

A woman was taken to the hospital and another is in custody after an argument took a violent turn Thursday afternoon, June 5, in South Bend. 

The Elkhart Truth’s reporting partner, WNDU, reported the South Bend Police Department responded to a stabbing at about 2 p.m. in the 100 block of East Fox Street, near Michigan Street. 

Police told WNDU two women were arguing when one stabbed the other. The severity of the victim’s injuries is unknown. 

A 46-year-old woman was arrested at the scene, but police have not found the weapon used during the stabbing, WNDU reported.
