Fighting crime in Elkhart County just got a little more high tech.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department has launched an app for Android and iPhone called ECSDTip. It allows users to send anonymous tips to the sheriff’s department and even attach photos.

The app also allows officers to respond to tipsters, who still remain anonymous.

The department hopes the app will reach younger residents of Elkhart County, and they expect the new tool will save time and resources, according to a press release.

The ECSDTip app can be downloaded for free online at the Google Play store for Android devices, on iTunes for iPhone devices or by visiting the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department’s website.
