Topeka man dies in Millersburg following farm-related accident

A Topeka man died in a farm-related accident Monday morning, May 19, in Millersburg. 

The Goshen News reports that John Bontrager, 71, died shortly after 11 a.m. at a farm at 5495 S. 1125 W., Millersburg, after being struck by a wagon that was being pulled by runaway horses. 

The LaGrange County coroner said Bontrager’s cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Bontrager was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church, according to his obituary.

This is the second farm-related fatal accident that has happened in LaGrange County in the month of May. Kevin Jon Lambright, 7, died after he fell from farming equipment he was riding May 3.

Lambright was a first-grade student at Meadowview Elementary School.
