Criminal charges against two Elkhart County Jail officers for crimes they allegedly committed on the job have drawn strong reactions from Elkhart Truth readers.

Former officer Adrian J. Long is charged with sexual misconduct by service provider with detainee, a Class C felony. The charges come following an investigation after the incident reportedly took place in April. Long resigned his position during the investigation.

Aaron M. Vandekeere is charged with trafficking with an inmate, a Class C felony, and trafficking with an inmate as a Class A misdemeanor.

Additional charges are under consideration, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.
