Firefighters and police are investigating a tip that the April 26 fire at Green Stream Company may have been intentionally set.

Cleveland Township Fire Chief Richard Newman said the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Firefighters from Cleveland Township and four other fire departments were called to the scene at 29414 Phillips St. shortly before 11 p.m. April 26. It took nearly two hours to control two separate fires on the property.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department received a tip on April 28 that the fire may have been intentionally set. Capt. Jim Bradberry said a sheriff's department detective is working with the fire department on the investigation.

"At this point, I don't have enough evidence or proof to prove that someone set that fire," Newman said. "That's something we're looking into and we're still following leads."

Newman said the fire department is still working to contact several people in regards to the investigation.
