ELKHART — An Elkhart man was arrested on several weapons charges after he allegedly walked down the street firing a gun.
Elkhart police were called to the 600 block of West Franklin Street around 1 p.m. on April 23 for a report of a man walking around in the area firing a gun, according to a news release.
Police arrested 20-year-old Joshua R. Sims on Friday, May 2 after a short investigation.
Sims was booked at the Elkhart County Jail on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm, a class C felony; pointing a firearm, a class D felony, and carrying a handgun without a license, a class A misdemeanor.
He is scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing on Friday, May 9.
