Masked men injure Middlebury mother during early-morning break-in

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in identifying suspects involved in a robbery in Middlebury that sent a woman to the hospital.

At around 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, a 26-year-old female and her three children were home when two unknown men in masks forced their way into the house and demanded money, according to a press release from the sheriff's department. The two males spent time at the house and eventually left with items belonging to the victim and her family.

The adult female is being treated at IU Health Goshen Hospital for injuries that she sustained during the incident, according to the release. The children were not harmed.
