The Elkhart County Jail is reducing its visitation times as the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department deals with what Sheriff Brad Rogers calls a staffing crisis.

Starting Monday, May 5, visitation hours will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department said. Temporary staffing issues led to the change.

"There will be no reduction in the number of visits allowed per week," the press release said.

Scheduling inmate visits will continue to be done by last name.
