Bristol man in critical condition after crash on C.R. 2 near Middlebury Sunday

A three-vehicle crash sent one man to the intensive care unit at South Bend Memorial Hospital on Sunday afternoon, April 20.

A Bristol man is in critical condition Monday morning, April 21, after a three-vehicle crash a few miles north of Middlebury Sunday afternoon, April 20.

Dale Greensides, 32, is being treated for life-threatening head injuries at South Bend Memorial Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman confirmed.

Greensides was riding his motorcycle Sunday afternoon in the 11000 block of C.R. 2, just north of the Indiana Toll Road, when the driver of a car turned left in his path, according to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department. Greensides collided with the car and was thrown from the motorcycle, while the car spun and collided with a a third vehicle that was parked and unoccupied.

Greensides was airlifted to Memorial by MedFlight.

The sheriff's department said no citations were issued at the scene of the crash, but the Elkhart County Crash Investigation Team is investigating.
