Saint Mary's College employee fired, arrested following accusations of voyeurism

An employee at Saint Mary's College has been fired and arrested after admitting to engaging in voyeurism at the school, The Elkhart Truth's news partner WNDU reported.

David Summerfield, 73, admitted to watching students who were in the restroom in Le Mans Hall after another employee reported suspicious behavior on Monday, April 14, WNDU reported. Within hours of the crime being reported, Summerfield was suspended without pay and escorted off campus.

Now, Saint Mary's said it has fired him, WNDU reported.

Officials at Saint Mary's notified the St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit, which began an investigation Monday, April 14. Police arrested Summerfield on Tuesday, April 15.
