Woman arrested after abducting her daughter, leading police on chase

Police say the woman abducted her 5 year old daughter during a supervised visit in Kosciusko County and then led police on a chase in Michigan on Sunday, April 13.

A woman was arrested Sunday, April 13, after police say she abducted her 5-year-old daughter in Kosciusko County and then led police on a chase in Michigan.

The unnamed woman took her daughter from Kosciusko County during a supervised visit, Michigan State Police told WNDU, The Elkhart Truth's news partner.

When police found her in St. Joseph County, Mich., on Sunday, she led them on a chase with speed reaching 75mph until two of her tires went flat. Her daughter was sitting in her lap at the time of the chase.

The woman faces charges including possession of narcotics and operating under the influence in Michigan and several others in Indiana, WNDU reported.
