DOWAGIAC — A man was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Pokagon Township Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Cass County Sheriff's Department, officers responded at about 3:30 p.m. to the intersection of Sink Road and Peavine Street for reports of the crash.

Joyce Brewer, 60, of Eau Claire, was driving west on Peavine Street approaching Sink Road when another vehicle failed to yield at the stop sign on Sink Road and collided with Brewer, according to the press release.

The driver of the other vehicle, Anthony Foertster, 48, was taken to Borgess Lee Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment. Brewer and two passengers in her vehicle were treated and released at the scene of the crash.

Police did not think alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash. The case remains under investigation.

The Pokagon Tribal Police and Pride Care Ambulance assisted in the call.
