South Bend Police officer praised for rescuing person from fire

South Bend Police Officer rescued a person from a fire on Saturday morning, April 5.

A South Bend Police officer who rescued a person from a fire in South Bend Saturday morning is being praised for his actions.

Aaron Brick has been with SBPD for 14 years. On Saturday morning, April 5, Brick spotted a house on fire while patrolling the 100 block of Birdsell Street, The Elkhart Truth's news partner WNDU reported.

Brick went into the house and pulled the person out. Both Brick and the victim were treated for smoke inhalation.
