Two-vehicle crash sends one man to Elkhart General Hospital

A driver involved in the crash was issued a citation.

ELKHART — A man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening, April 3.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department, emergency responders were called at about 6:11 p.m. to S.R. 19 near Hively Avenue for reports of a crash.

According to the release, Terry Richards, 29, of Elkhart, was driving south on S.R. 19. He was driving close to the vehicle in front of him, driven by Lucas Baker, 30, of Elkhart.

As Baker slowed for a turning vehicle, Richards' vehicle collided with his.

Baker was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of neck and shoulder pain.

Richards was issued a citation for following too close behind a vehicle.
