GOSHEN — Two people were taken to the hospital and one person was arrested following a three-vehicle crash on the west side of Elkhart County.
Emergency units were called at about 2 a.m. Saturday, March 29, to C.R. 9 and C.R. 38 on reports of a crash.
According to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department, Brett Shaske, 54, of Elkhart, was driving south on C.R. 9 and stopped at the intersection at C.R. 38.
James Grosse, 63, of Michigan City, was heading north on C.R. 9 and also stopped at the intersection.
Shaske drove into the intersection, getting in the path of a pickup truck driven by Andrew Stutzman, 29, of Elkhart. Stutzman was headed east on C.R. 38.
Stutzman's truck hit the rear end of Shaske's car, causing it to crash into Grosse's car.
Judy Shaske, 49, a passenger in Shaske's car, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with complaint of leg pain.
Kimberly Sevick, 51, a passenger in Grosse's vehicle, was also taken to the hospital with complaint of neck pain.
Brett Shaske was cited for failing to yield the right of way. Stutzman was arrested at the scene because he had a valid warrant.
