One injured in crash south of Goshen

GOSHEN — One person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash south of Goshen on Thursday afternoon, March 27.

According to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department, 60-year-old Elwood Kauffman, of Millersburg, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck westbound on C.R. 42 around 2 p.m. Thursday when he started to make a left turn onto S.R. 15.

Kauffman turned into the path of a southbound Buick Park Avenue driven by Melissa Messer, 44, of New Paris.

Messer was taken to IU Health Goshen with pain to her chest, neck and head.

Kauffman was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
