Two-vehicle crash injures one man in Cass County

The Michigan St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department is investigating a crash that happened Sunday in Howard Township.

HOWARD TOWNSHIP — A man was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Howard Township Sunday, March 23.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department was called at about 6:29 p.m. to the intersection of Thompson Road and White Street for reports of a crash.

According to a press release from the sheriff's department, Taylor McCain, 20, of Niles, was driving west on White Street when a southbound vehicle on Thompson pulled out in front of him.

The driver of the other vehicle, Brandon Black, 16, and his passenger, River Britton, were released at the scene.

Taylor was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to the release.

Both drivers and the passenger were wearing seat belts when the crash happened, and neither one of the drivers had consumed alcohol, according to the release.

The sheriff's department said the case is still under investigation.
