Car fire victim remains in critical condition, police still investigating

Police and fire officials say investigation regarding the vehicle fire will take days to be completed. The victim is still in critical condition.

GOSHEN — A man remains in critical condition at a hospital's burn center five days after he was found in a car fire at Linway Plaza in Goshen.

The Goshen Fire Department responded to the Linway Plaza parking lot on reports of a vehicle fire

William Tully was airlifted to St. Joseph Hospital's burn center in Fort Wayne after he was found in the back seat of his blue two-door Scion while firefighters worked to put the fire out Wednesday afternoon, March 19.

A hospital representative said Tully is still in critical condition.

The Goshen Police Department said in an email Monday that officers are still investigating the incident but cannot release any new information.

Mike Happer, a fire investigator with the Goshen Fire Department, said the fire department is also investigating the incident, and that he cannot comment on the investigation.

Happer said Friday that the investigation will take another week to be completed.
