Illinois man left dog alone in apartment for nearly two months, police say
A dog named Bruno was found "severely malnourished" and covered in skin lesions after its owner left the terrier mix unattended and without food or water in an Illinois apartment for nearly two months, police said.
Hojin Lee of Niles, Ill., faces animal cruelty charges and is scheduled to appear in court in Skokie, Ill., the Chicago Tribune reports.
The 37-year-old man was evicted from his Niles, Ill., apartment around New Year's Eve. The apartment building's maintenance manager found Bruno in the apartment on Feb. 22. Urine, feces and vomit were all over the apartment and the dog had infections in its eyes.
A bag of dog food was found on the counter out of the Bruno's reach.
