NAPPANEE — A 72-year-old man who was found dead alongside a roadway east of Nappanee on Tuesday afternoon died due to natural causes, according to Elkhart County Coroner John White.
The man left his home for a walk shortly before he was found by Elkhart County Highway workers on C.R. 9, just north of U.S. 6, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.
An Elkhart County dispatcher said emergency medical service units and the sheriff's department were called to the location at about 1:41 p.m. Tuesday, March 18.
The Sheriff's department is withholding the man's name pending further notification of the family.
