75-year-old man dead after a crash on Nappanee Street and California Road

The Elkhart Police Department said that at least three people were taken to the hospital.

A 75-year-old man is dead after a crash on Nappanee Street and California Road in Elkhart, according to Elkhart County Coroner John White. He was one of three people taken to the hospital, according to Lt. Mike Sigsbee of the Elkhart Police Department.

The two other people involved in the crash are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An officer at the scene said that at least two vehicles were involved in the crash. A sedan and a truck were involved.

The 75-year-old man and his wife were in the sedan. The woman was taken to Elkhart General Hospital.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at 3:29 p.m.

The truck was heading south on Nappanee Street and the sedan was heading east on California Road. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
