Two injured in U.S. 20 crash are in good, fair condition

A spokeswoman with Memorial Hospital in South Bend said two of the people injured in yesterday's four-car crash on U.S. 20 are in good and fair condition. The other two people injured were transferred to another hospital.

Two people involved in a four-car crash Sunday, March 9, are in good and fair condition at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, a spokeswoman with the hospital said.

Devin Jewel,  21, of Elkhart, is in fair condition. KC McClain, 25, of Elkhart, is in good condition. Two other people who were injured during the crash, Kayla McClain, 25, and Aiden McClain, 5, were transferred to other hospitals, a spokeswoman with Memorial Hospital said.

Police said Devin Jewel was driving eastbound on U.S. 20 just west of S.R. 15 when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit three other cars head-on. An extrication unit and MedFlight had to be called to the scene.

It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
