Arrests in Elkhart County, Feb. 28 - March 7, 2014

Several people were arrested this week on preliminary charges such as operating a vehicle without a license, possession of cocaine and theft.

This list of arrests was compiled from information sent by the Elkhart Police Department, Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department and Goshen Police Department on Feb. 28 - on March 7, 2014. All charges are preliminary and individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. It is the policy and practice of The Elkhart Truth to provide the name of individuals arrested on preliminary charges involving drugs, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and all felonies. All efforts are made to ensure accuracy of the information provided and to protect the identities of the victims.

ELKHART

Amy J. Nichols, 37, Constantine, was arrested on a preliminary charge of theft in the 3100 block of Northview Drive on Feb. 28.

A 51-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving with a suspended license in the 1700 block of West Indiana Avenue on Feb. 28.

A 51-year-old Elkhart woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of criminal trespass in the 300 block of La Salle Street on Feb. 28.

Detric J. Wilson, 25, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle without a license in the 600 block of Strong Avenue on Feb. 28.

A 28-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of public nudity in the 100 block of Easy Shopping Place on March 1.

Melissa Thornton, 29, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and battery in the 200 block of South Second Street on March 1.

A 20-year-old Elkhart woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving with a suspended license in the 1400 block of Cassopolis Street on March 1.

William G. Troeger, 44, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of theft in the 1200 block of North Nappanee Street on March 1.

Joel Muniz Gil, 45, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, public intoxication and obstructing traffic in the 400 block of Vistula Street on March 1.

A 20-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without a license in the 1000 block of Richmond Street on March 1.

Andrew E. Mast, 24, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the 100 block of Waterfall Drive on March 1.

A 22-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of domestic battery in the 1400 block of Labor Day Lane on March 1.

Celso Gomez-Ramos, 24, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle without a license and operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the 1700 block of Frances Avenue on March 3.

A 37-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of violation of probation in the 600 block of North Michigan Street on March 1.

Andrea L. Ott, 48, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of forgery in the 1400 block of Prairie Street on March 3.

Andrew R. Gardner, 24, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, resisting law enforcement and criminal recklessness in the 100 block of West Cleveland Avenue on March 3.

A 30-year-old Elkhart woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without a license in the 700 block of Marine Avenue on March 3.

A 20-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without a license in the 2000 block of Benham Avenue on March 3.

A 23-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of public intoxication in the 2200 block of Roys Avenue on March 3.

A 54-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement in the 100 block of North Main Street on March 3.

Patrick Reck, 22, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana in the 200 block of South Fifth Street on March 3.

Esteban Z. Martinez, 19, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana in the 200 block of South Fifth Street on March 3.

A 20-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of violation of probation in the 200 block of South Second Street on March 4.

Ramon S. Maldonado, 33, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator in the 600 block of Vistula Street on March 4.

A 48-year-old Elkhart woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of violation of probation in the 100 block of Harrison Street on March 4.

Doricela Abarca, 25, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, operating a vehicle without a license and failure to identify herself in the 2000 block of Benham Avenue on March 5.

A 52-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without a license in the 100 block of Waterfall Drive on March 5.

Pamela M. Grainger, 42, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a legend drug in the 100 block of Waterfall Drive on March 6.

A 22-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of disorderly conduct in the 2200 block of Benham Avenue on March 5.

Rachel A. Hawkins, 33, Edwardsburg, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of cocaine in the 30000 block of C.R. 20 on March 6.

Russell Marner, 18, Cromwell, was arrested on a preliminary charge of theft in the 3700 block of South Main Street on March 6.

Theo Bean, 19, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of burglary in the 2300 block of Frances Avenue on March 6. 

GOSHEN

Zachary W. McGuire, 23, Millersburg, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the 4000 block of Elkhart Road on March 1.

David L. McNeal, 45, Goshen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of manufacturing methamphetamine at Elkhart Road and Reliance Road on March 1.

Carlos A. Sanchez Maldonado, 22, Goshen, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without a license at Fifth Street and Clinton Avenue on March 2.

James E. Lee, 26, Goshen, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license at Chicago and Indiana on March 2.

Cristina Rocha, 31, Goshen, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of domestic battery in front of a child in the 2600 block of Alpine Fir Lane on March 2.

Matthew A. Clauss, 45, Goshen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated at C.R. 17 and Peddler's Village Road on March 2.

Nohelia Gonzalez, 42, Goshen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator at Seventh Street and Middlebury Street on March 3.

Jessica J. Janosky, 27, Goshen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of theft in the 2300 block of Lincolnway East on March 3.

A 24-year-old Goshen man was arrested on a preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement in the 2300 block of West Wilden Avenue on March 3.

A 34-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and criminal mischief in the 100 block of West Pike Street on March 3.

Christopher D. Wheeler, 43, Lucerne, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated at Elkhart Road and Rieth Boulevard on March 4.

Amanda M. Wright, 30, White Pigeon, was arrested on a preliminary charge of theft in the 4500 block of Elkhart Road on March 4.

ELKHART COUNTY

Gari L. Napier, 49, Bremen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator on S.R. 19 south of Indiana Avenue on Feb. 28.

A 32-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without a license on S.R. 19 north of U.S 20 on Feb. 28.

A 47-year-old Osceola man was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving with a suspended license on S.R. 19 north of C.R. 24 on Feb. 28.

Gabriel Escobar Ortiz, 33, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated on C.R. 13 south of C.R. 45 on Feb. 28.

A 37-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on preliminary charges of driving with a suspended license and no insurance on Pleasant Plain south of Hively Avenue on March 1.

Matthew R. Izak, 22, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia at U.S. 33 and Sunnyside on March 1.

Joshua R. Miller, 20, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia on C.R. 6 west of C.R. 7 on March 1.

Colt R. Haringer, 19, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana on C.R. 6 west of C.R. 7 on March 1.

Marco A. Sanchez, 26, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle without a license and counterfeit government-issued identification on U.S. 33 near Sunnyside on March 2.

Alicia Jones, 42, South Bend, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia at U.S. 33 near Sunnyside on March 2.

Michael R. Marter, 32, Wolcottville, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated at U.S. 33 and Sunnyside on March 2.

James J. Carr, 32, Enterprise, Ala., was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated on S.R. 19 north of C.R. 6 on March 2.

Lori J. Lacey, 41, Goshen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated on S.R. 15 north of C.R. 24 on March 2.

A 20-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle without a license at C.R. 6 and C.R. 9 on Feb. 28.

Jeffery T. Pitman, 49, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated on S.R. 120 west of Bayridge on Feb. 28.

Rigoberto J. Rodriguez, 23, Goshen, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana at U.S. 33 and Sunnyside on March 2.

A 50-year-old Osceola man was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving with a suspended license on S.R. 19 north of C.R. 26 on March 4.

Jose T. Beristain, 35, Goshen, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, operating a vehicle without a license and no insurance at Old C.R. 17 and Willow Way on March 4.

Jose J. Portillo-Acosta, 46, Goshen, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without a license at U.S. 33 and Ferndale on March 4.

Victor M. Echartea, 20, Elkhart, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage on the U.S. 20 Bypass on March 4.

Angel L. Halsey, 27, Milford, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and neglect of a dependent at S.R. 19 and Lusher Avenue on March 5.

Carla L. Donoho, 34, Edwardsburg, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated on S.R. 9 south of C.R. 6 on March 5.

Travis G. Kemble, 39, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated on Winding Waters Lane south of Roseland Road on March 6.

Jose D. Renteria-Solis, 34, Syracuse, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle without a license and operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator at C.R. 29 and C.R. 48.

A 63-year-old Goshen man was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving with a suspended license on Old C.R. 17 south of C.R. 28 on March 6.

A 43-year-old Goshen man was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving with a suspended license at Benham Avenue and Hively Avenue on March 6.

James A. Utley, 45, Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated at S.R. 19 and C.R. 16 on March 7.
