GOSHEN — A Goshen man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly making bomb threats against the New Paris area.

Walter Glasgow, 53, was arrested at his home in the 66000 block of U.S. 33 around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, on a preliminary charge of false informing, which is a felony, according to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.

The Elkhart County 911 Center received a call shortly after 1 p.m. Monday in which the caller made vague threats about planting a bomb in the New Paris area

New Paris Elementary students were not allowed to walk home from school Monday afternoon as a precaution.

"Though the investigation revealed no actual threat to the community, the Sheriff’s Department takes a strong stance in holding those accountable for making false threats that disrupt the community and its resources," Capt. James Bradberry wrote in the news release Tuesday.
