One victim from Milford fire identified
The coroner is waiting on DNA tests to confirm identity of second victim.
ELKHART — The Kosciusko County Coroner's Office has identified one of the two victims of a deadly fire at Medina's Body Repair Shop on Thursday, Feb. 13.
A release from Coroner Michael Wilson's office confirmed Annalu Nunez was one of the victims. It was determined Nunez died of smoke inhalation.
The release said confirmation of the male's identity is pending DNA testing.
Medical examiners from the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center concluded the male died of smoke inhalation and are continuing their investigation to achieve a positive identification of the male victim.
Nunez resided at the 310 N. Higbee St. location, according to the release.
The investigation into the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office, the Fire Investigation Team of Kosciusko County, Milford Police Department, Milford Fire Department and the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office.
