Elkhart man facing cocaine dealing charges

ELKHART — An Elkhart man was arrested Thursday morning on several drug-related charges.

Johnny D. Stewart, 31, was arrested on preliminary charges of four counts of dealing cocaine, according to a news release from the Elkhart Police Department. The charge carries a penalty of up to 50 years in prison.

Officers from the department's drug unit arrested Stewart at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, after a short-term investigation.

According to Elkhart County Jail records, Stewart has been booked at the jail several times since 2011 on charges including possession of cocaine, violation of probation and failure to identify himself.
