Goshen woman taken to hospital following crash

A woman was taken to the hospital after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash near the Elkhart city limits.

ELKHART — A woman was taken to the hospital after being involved in a two-vehicle crash just south of the Elkhart city limits Tuesday morning, Feb. 11.

Emergency units responded at about 6:09 a.m. to the intersection of C.R. 9 and C.R. 32 for reports of a crash.

According to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department, Ruth Schrock, 65, of Goshen, was driving south on C.R. 9 and stopped at the intersection at a four-way stop.

Amy Bertram, 40, of Elkhart was driving west on C.R. 32 and disregarded the stop sign, colliding with Schrock's car as Schrock attempted to turn left.

Schrock was taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital with head pain, according to the press release.

Bertram was cited for disregarding a stop sign.
