Second person arrested in connection with burglary of Elkhart business
Ricky Stemm, of Elkhart, was arrested in connection with the burglary of an abandoned building in the 28000 block of Old U.S. 33.
ELKHART – The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department has arrested a second person in connection with the Feb. 1 burglary of an Elkhart business.
Ricky Stemm, 51, was arrested in the area of Main Street and Potawatomie Street in Elkhart on Sunday, Feb. 2. Stemm was the second person apprehended in connection with the burglary of an abandoned building in the 28000 block of Old U.S. Highway 33.
The first person arrested, 49-year-old William Kalady, was taken into custody shortly after the burglary.
According to a news release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department, police were able to arrest Stemm after they received tips from the public alerting them to his location.
Both Stemm and Kalady are being held at the Elkhart County Correctional Facility for burglary, the news release said.
