The burglary happened Thursday, Jan. 2, in the 23000 block of C.R. 26, between C.R. 11 and C.R. 13, according to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

Jim Bradberry, public information officer with the sheriff’s department, said the burglary happened sometime between 1 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The house and another building were entered by force and the suspects stole several guns. Some were antiques and collector firearms. Suspects also took tools and other antique collectibles, according to the press release.

A red Chevrolet pickup truck was seen at the house during daylight hours.

This is the second time in recent weeks that multiple firearms were stolen in the county. The Goshen Police department continues to investigate a robbery at MC Sports, 4024 Elkhart Road, in which several guns were taken.

Police were called to the store Dec. 14 at about 8:12 p.m. on reports of a robbery.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $7,000 reward that will be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation — the trade association for the firearms industry — for a total reward of $14,000 for information about the robbery, according to a news release from the ATF.
