Man ejected from car near Middlebury in stable condition

A man is in stable condition after he was involved in a crash early Thursday morning.

MIDDLEBURY — A Mishawaka man who was ejected from his car following a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning remains in the hospital.

Daniel S. Little, 33, is in stable condition, a spokeswoman from Memorial Hospital in South Bend said.

Deputies from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of the crash at 3 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, about 1 1/2 miles east of Middlebury.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, Little was driving a 2008 Chevy Aveo west on U.S. 20, east of C.R. 33, when his car left the edge of the road, going into a ditch. Little was ejected from the car.

Little was taken to the South Bend hospital, where he was treated for a fractured leg and where he was found to be intoxicated, according to the press release.

No citations were issued. The sheriff’s department continues to investigate the crash.
