GOSHEN — Five men arrested Nov. 4 in Goshen on suspicion of robbery appeared for their initial hearing at Elkhart Circuit Court Thursday morning.
Armando Gonzalez Jr., Matthew R. Allen, Antoine A. McDuffie, Davon N. Crenshaw and Montrail D. Williams were arrested following an investigation by the Goshen Police Department on a robbery that happened at a home in the Twin Mobile Home Park Nov. 4.
The victims of the robbery told police that a handgun of unknown caliber was displayed during the robbery. None of the residents were injured.
Allen, Crenshaw and McDuffie were charged with robbery, burglary, criminal confinement and conspiracy to commit burglary.
Gonzalez and Williams were charged with robbery, burglary, criminal confinement, conspiracy to commit burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
Crenshaw, Gonzalez and Williams were appointed an attorney from the public defender’s office.
Allen and McDuffie reported they were hiring an attorney. An attorney status conference was scheduled in their cases for Thursday, Nov. 21.
During their initial hearing, Allen and Crenshaw asked for a speedy trial, but retracted and accepted their scheduled trial date of March 3.
Their bonds have been set at $250,000. The court ordered a bond report in each case to determine whether their bonds should be reduced.
