ELKHART — Two women were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after a two-car crash a few miles south of Elkhart Monday afternoon, Sept. 23.

Jordan Hylton, 20, of Goshen, was driving west on C.R. 28 and approaching the intersection of C.R. 7 at approximately 4:19 p.m., when she disregarded her stop sign and crashed into a vehicle driven by Betty Bennett, 77, of Goshen, according to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department. Bennett was driving south on C.R. 7 and did not have a stop sign at C.R. 28.

Bennett’s vehicle struck the front passenger side of Hylton’s vehicle. Hylton kept going and crashed into a utility pole on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Bennett was taken to Elkhart General Hospital on a complaint of head pain.

Hylton complained of chest, neck and back pain and was taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was cited for disregarding a stop sign and driving without insurance.
