Indiana Excise Police arrest 61 in concert

SOUTH BEND — The Indiana State Excise Police arrested 61 people during the B100 concert at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds Sunday, Sept. 15.

The B100 19th annual birthday party, a free concert, brought country music performers such as Travis Tritt, Joe Nichols and several other artists.

Officers arrested 22 people on preliminary charges of illegal consumption of alcohol and six adults on preliminary charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to a press release from the excise police department.

Police cited 28 people for underage possession of tobacco and two adults for furnishing tobacco to a juvenile.

Officers also made arrests for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of synthetic marijuana and false informing.

Excise officers, while having authority to enforce any state law, focus on alcohol, tobacco and related laws.
