Two dead in train crash

SIDNEY — Two people were killed early Friday morning when their car was struck by a train in Kosciusko County.

Emergency personnel were called to the S.R. 13 railroad crossing in the town of Sidney at 4:42 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, for a report of a vehicle that had been struck by a Norfolk Southern freight train, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

The Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating the crash and the Kosciusko County Coroner is still in the process of notifying family members.

More information will be released after the families have been notified.
