Mottville woman dies after being pinned underwater by tractor

The woman was driving her utility tractor near a pond when the tractor rolled into the pond and pinned her underwater.

MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 62-year-old Mottville Township woman died at a hospital after being pinned underwater by her utility tractor at approximately 12:34 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.

Betty Hull was driving her tractor near a pond when the tractor rolled into the pond, pinning Hull underwater for approximately 15 minutes, according to a press release from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s office.

Rescue workers freed her from the tractor and pulled her out to resuscitate her. Hull was then airlifted to Borgess Hospital, where she was originally listed in critical condition and later died.
