Woman taken to hospital after car drives into a ditch in Elkhart

ELKHART — One woman was taken to Elkhart General Hospital Thursday, Aug. 22, after the car she was a passenger in drove off the road and into a ditch.

Brandy Kitelinger, 27, of Elkhart, complained of pain in her lower back, right elbow, left knee and abdomen, according to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

Adam Mccavitt, 24, of Elkhart, was driving south on C.R. 7 at approximately 3:24 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and headed east off of the road, landing in a ditch south of Water Edge Drive. Mccavitt was not injured and was cited for driving left of center, according to the press release.
