ELKHART — A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on John Weaver Parkway.
Police and medics were dispatched to the intersection of John Weaver Parkway and Plainfield Drive at 2:03 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.
Sgt. Dan Colson of the Elkhart Police Department said the motorcyclist was driving northbound on John Weaver Parkway when he was struck by a gray sedan. Colson said the driver of the sedan had not seen the motorcycle when he pulled out onto John Weaver Parkway from Plainfield Drive.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle by the crash and landed on the other side of the road about 75 feet away and was being transported directly to South Bend Memorial Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The driver of the sedan was treated at the scene for minor injuries, Colson said.
