Two hurt in three-vehicle accident on S.R. 15

    One person was hurt in a three-vehicle crash on S.R. 15 Tuesday afternoon, July 16.

    GOSHEN — Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle acccident Tuesday, July 16, on S.R. 15.

    According to Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department investigators, Keith Barrier, 38, of Elkhart was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra north on S.R. 15, attempting to turn west onto C.R. 18, while Oleg Drepin, 40, of Goshen was southbound on S.R. 15 at C.R. 18 in a 2007 Ford Focus. A 2011 Volkswagen Jetta driven by James Kocher, 36, of Goshen, was stopped at the stop sign eastbound on C.R. 18.

    Police said Barrier failed to yield the right-of-way and Drepin’s vehicle struck Barrier’s in the front passenger side. Barrier’s vehicle was then pushed into the front of Kocher’s vehicle.

    Oleg Drepin and a passenger in his vehicle, Vladimir Drepin, 66, of Goshen, were taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital for treatment of head pain.

    Barrier was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
