Granger woman hurt in early morning crash
A woman was taken to the hospital with minor cuts following a single-vehicle accident.

ELKHART — A woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a single-vehicle accident on the north side of the county early Saturday morning, July 6.
According to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Kelly Hammond, 43, of Granger, was driving an SUV north on C.R. 7, north of C.R. 4, when the vehicle veered off the west side of the road, striking a utility pole. The vehicle rolled over and stopped on its side.
The crash happened at about 3 a.m.
Hammond had minor cuts to her arm and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital. She was found to be intoxicated, according to the release.
No citations were issued at the time, but the sheriff’s department will continue investigating the crash.
