BRISTOL — A semi rollover on S.R. 15 south of Bristol will restrict traffic for the next few hours.
A tractor-trailer hauling seed corn rolled off the side of the northbound lane of S.R. 15 near C.R. 10 on Tuesday, July 2. The accident call came to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s department at 6:47 a.m.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Ruben, a worker for the company in charge of transporting the seed corn who asked his last name not be used, said the semi had to be unloaded before the towing crew could move the truck.
“If they try to flip the truck over with the load it will mess the truck up,” he said.
A group of five men, including the towing crew, a sheriff’s deputy and a worker with the company that owns the semi, passed bags of seed corn to each other to unload the truck Tuesday morning.
Travel will be down to one lane for the next few hours, according to Sgt. Jeff Stutsman, while a crew tries to unload the overturned semi.
